  • An animated graph of Regional Trade Agreements in force overtime

The rise in the number of Regional Trade Agreements in part reflects the WTO's members inability to agree on more comprehensive global trade deals. Additionally, countries increasingly treat trade as a national security issue, aspiring for more control and less economic integration with strategic rivals.
